Students On Government Sponsorship

Students who will receive government sponsorship for their studies and who meet the academic requirements for undergraduate degree admission but do not meet the English requirement will be issued a letter of admission for Academic English studies with conditional admission to their undergraduate degree program of choice. These study plan letters state that the sponsored students are academically admissible for sponsorship purposes and will be admitted to the undergraduate degree program once they meet the minimum of Academic English level.

First-year/Freshman applicants must complete Academic English Level 5 to progress to their degree program and Transfer students must complete Academic English Level 6 to progress to their degree program.

Please note that government sponsorship has traditionally been limited to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Libya or Oman. Other government sponsorships may allow for conditional degree program admission. Please contact the Office of International Admissions for more information.

Please note that academic performance is not the sole criterion for admission to the university. The university may evaluate a person's behavior and background to determine their ability to maintain the standards of academic and professional conduct expected at the university. An evaluation may take into consideration current behavior and performance as well as past experiences and actions. Simply qualifying for admission does not guarantee admission.

Applicants who are ineligible to re-enroll at any college or university that they attended within the last seven years for student conduct reasons will be automatically declined admission at OSU.  Applicants who are unable to re-enroll at a previous college or university for academic reasons will be considered for admission only if they meet OSU’s minimum academic requirements.
