How & When to Apply

Before you start:

 

These instructions apply to international undergraduate programs, English programs, Pathway programs, MEng Electrical and Computer Engineering, and MEng Computer Science. Other direct graduate applications should visit the OSU Graduate School international applications page.

1. Determine course of study

Decide what academic or English language program you want to apply for. Read about OSU's degree-seeking and English language programs at oregonstate.edu/admissions/international/programs. The Office of International Admissions does not perform pre-evaluations. 

2. Check requirements

Be sure your academic and language scores meet admission requirements for your program of choice. Detailed admission requirements can be found at oregonstate.edu/admissions/international/admission-requirements.

3. Apply

When you're ready to apply, visit Apply Now!

4. Send required documents

Along with your application, supporting documents are needed to make an admission decision. These include:

  • Transcripts (copies in native language and in English)
  • Diplomas (copies in native language and in English)
  • Language proficiency scores, if applicable
  • Test scores, if applicable
  • Passport (copy)
  • Evidence of funding

Submit documents:

When submitting documents, always include your full name, date of birth and OSU ID number, if available. Email submission of digital (scanned) copies of your documents is the quickest way to submit documents.

5. Application processing

After you submit your application, we will notify you via email once it has been recieved and you may be asked to provide any missing application documents. Your transcripts and other documents must be evaluated and you will be contacted once an admission decision has been made. 

6. Offer of admission

If qualified, we will send you an offer of admission.

7. Confirm

Return your signed offer of admission and pay the deposit. Once your signed form and deposit have been recieved, we will send you your I-20. Instructions for payment submission are included with your offer letter.

8. Prepare for arrival

You will receive a Pre-Departure Guide to help prepare you for living and studying in the US.

9. Be a Beaver!


When to Apply

OSU recommends students apply for INTO OSU and undergraduate direct programs at least eight (8) weeks prior to their expected program start date. Applicants to graduate programs are encouraged to apply six (6) months before their expected start date (unless specified otherwise by their department).
